| FRIDAY NIGHT TASTING DATE: Friday, February 26, 2010 TIME: 5:00-7:00 PM LOCATION: 700 Tenacity Dr. #102 Longmont, CO 720-652-9463 Chardonnays Friday night we will taste Chardonnays from the northern coast of California, one of Chile's oldest wine estates, and from South Australia's oldest family-owned winery. Pavilion Crossing Chardonnay The grapes from this 2008 Chardonnay come from vineyards within Sonoma's Russian River and Napa Valley. The aromas are complex with bright, spicy green apple, pear and hint of vanilla. The palate is creamy and full-bodied with hints of butter, nut and light, toasty oak. The balance of this wine makes it a pleasure to savor on its own or enjoy with a variety of foods. $13.99 Los Vacos Chardonnay 2008- Vintage has a brilliant and clear color with golden reflections. Explosive nose of melon, grapefruit and exotic fruit coupled with the typical Chardonnay note of hazelnut. In the mouth, it is rich, fresh and pleasantly fruity with good structure and a long finish. Should drink this wine when it is young, as an appetizer with oysters, white meat, fish or cheeses. Serve quite cold. $9.99 Yalumba Chardonnay 2008- Unwooded. This fresh white wine has rich aromas of melon, grapefruit and honey. Fresh tropical fruit flavors of peach, pineapple and fig give this wine texture and palate weight. A crisp, citrus acidity brings balance and zest to this fruit driven Chardonnay. A rich, yet mineral palate complemented by fresh tropical fruit that finishes with fresh pineapple acidity. Serve wtih lemon chicken or sweet and sour pork. Food friendly wine! $10.99 These wines will be discounted 10% the night of the tasting. Cheers!! |
